Join us for this 12@12 event, which will be held on December 12, 2016 at 12 pm at St. Mary’s County Detention Center in Leonardtown, Maryland. The registration will be on a first come, first served basis and limited to 12 participants.
This will be a rare opportunity to tour the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and have a rich and engaging conversation on the mission of the Corrections Division. Learn how the division reduces crime by confining offenders who pose a threat to the community in the most safe and secure manner possible. The tour and open discussion will be facilitated by Captain Michael Merican, Commander of the Corrections Division. Topics expected to arise are – types of offenders being held, the cost of incarceration, where education impacts the life of the offender, and sharing stories of success and failure.
