LSM E-News - May 2018

FEEL THE ENERGY, LOVE THE ENVIRONMENT

Energy & Environment Program days were April 26-27 and the Class of 2018 crossed counties and cultures with tours of Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Energy facility, Dominion Energy Cove Point, Lore Oyster House and Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons; SMECO solar farm in Hughesville; and the produce auction in Loveville. Thank you to our session sponsors: Exelon, SMECO, and Calvert County Dept. of Communications and Media Relations. Thanks also to Joe "Mort" Mortensen LSM'16, the program's lead advocate with session facilitators Jeff Lewis (general manager, the Front Porch restaurant) and Linda Vassallo LMd '07 of Calvert County Dept. of Communications and Media Relations.

CALLING ALL ALUMNI: LEAVE YOUR MARK!

Calling all alumni: it's the 10th year celebration of LSM and our office is moving. We're looking for some creative energy to spiff up and decorate our new work space, located at 22738 Maple Road in Lexington Park. Please be patient during the transition: our phones and internet may be interrupted briefly.

A few remaining items are needed to furnish this new space to make it our new inspiring home. Here's a list of items we're still looking for:

Bookshelf

Microwave

Coffee maker

Mini fridge

Let Denise Foster know what you have at denise@leadershipsomd.org.

NONPROFIT SPOTLIGHT

Did You Know?  The Non-Profit Alliance was formed in 2015 by the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce to foster working partnerships between the Alliance and the for-profit sector of the county. Nonprofits in Calvert County contribute $20 million in revenue to the county each year and account for nearly 10% of the county's workforce.
