Economic & Workforce Development Session - October 3rd

The Class of 2020 attended their first Executive Program session, Economic & Workforce Development, on October 3.  The day began with a tour of the Charles County American Job Center and Mobile Career Center.  The class continued its experience at Regency Furniture Stadium, home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Highlights included a panel discussion with representatives of the three county economic development departments including Marcia Keeth LSM'18 from Charles County and Kelly Robertson Slagle LSM'10 from Calvert.  Presentations also covered topics like diversifying the local economy, creating entrepreneurial communities, and meeting the region's workforce development demands. The day rounded out with an interactive exercise about soft vs. hard skills led by Pam Wilkerson LSM'19.
