Footprints for Faith is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization based in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. We created Footprints for Faith in March 2009 in honor and memory of our daughter, Faith, 3 months after her birth and death. Devastated by the lack of resources and support our community offered, we decided to embark upon this mission so that other families would not have to endure such loneliness during an already tragic experience. The organization was founded and the Board of Directors is made up of families who experienced a poor prenatal diagnosis, stillbirth, or infant loss, including family members and friends who traveled this journey with their loved ones. We offer a wide range of information, resources, and support. Memory boxes, Recognition of Life Certificates, and bereavement support books for parents and siblings affected by the loss are offered free of charge to families who have received a poor prenatal diagnosis or packages are designed to offer emotional support and a sense of compassion during an incredibly difficult time. We recently provided our last 16 packages and need to replenish our supplies to ensure we can continue to provide this critical support to the hospital and grieving families. In addition to the comfort care packages, Footprints for Faith works directly with Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory and funds up to $500 in funeral expenses for infant loss services. Since we started funding funeral expenses in 2020, Footprints for Faith has helped over 60 families lay their babies to rest with respect and a reduced financial burden. experienced a stillbirth or infant loss.
